Slim-line and light weight for optimal fit
Advances in the materials used in the fabrication of ankle and foot braces or ankle foot orthoses [AFOs] means today’s braces are slim-line and lightweight offering optimal shoe fit. Innovation in design means today’s AFOs offer breathability to the point where the wearer is hardly aware they are wearing the device. Where suitable, our Podiatrists prescribe from the Richie Brace range of AFOs. These braces return excellent results when treating a range of pathologies including flat foot, drop foot, diabetic neuropathy and tendinopathy of the foot and ankle.
The Richie Brace
The Richie Brace® was designed and introduced to the medical community in 1996 by sports podiatrist, Dr. Doug Richie. Since that time The Richie Brace® has become the gold standard treatment in the orthotics industry. It is universally recognised by podiatrists, orthotists and orthopedic surgeons as a unique breakthrough technology to treat a wide variety of foot and ankle pathologies such as drop foot PTTD ankle arthritis, ankle sprains and many other injury types. Many imitations have followed, but none have achieved the fit, comfort and clinical success of The Richie Brace®.
With a contoured balanced orthotic footplate articulated to adjustable semi-rigid lower leg uprights, The Richie Brace® is ideally suited to stabilize rotational forces at the Midtarsal, Subtalar and Talo-Crural joints. Modifications and enhancements are available to add further restriction of motion in the sagittal, frontal or transverse plane.
The Richie Brace® is a revolutionary alternative to traditional ankle braces and ankle-foot orthoses (AFO's). The lightweight construction and low profile design features of the Richie Brace allows better shoe fit, more freedom of movement and reduced pain from injury. Many of our patients can eventually recover and discontinue wearing their brace. That's why our commitment to "Restoring Mobility" is on every product we make.
